International Terrorism and the Effects of International Terrorism
International Terrorism and the Effects of International TerrorismEast Timor has become a focal point for several researchers, academics and the press due to ongoing political and social conflicts. These conflicts have provided a perfect backdrop for scholars, researchers and journalists to investigate and write their own research papers, papers in research on East Timor and its neighbours. Researchers have extensively covered both ethnic and religious issues including religion and politics in East Timor, as well as environmental issues, the role of the media and legal issues such as international crime and politics. The East Timor conflict has taken many forms, many of which have affected many countries around the world. Issues of justice, human rights, and accountability have also been examined in depth. However, the political and social problems that have come about from these conflicts have also come about from a different kind of problem, namely, the spread of international terro rism. Terrorism has impacted Eastern Timor in a very major way.Terrorists have had a large impact on those who are on the receiving end of international terrorists. Not only is the country of East Timor affected by the war between Timor and Indonesia, but it is also affected by the economic costs, crime and violence caused by international terrorists. This article examines some of the major facets of international terrorism and why it has affected East Timor. Many countries around the world have terrorism as one of their major problems. On the other hand, the United States and Australia are the only two countries that have terrorism as a major concern. Whilst terrorism is found in many places, international terrorism has been particularly prevalent in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Chechnya, Kashmir, and numerous parts of the Middle East. The major difference between international terrorism and East Timor terrorism is that there are many countries with less than perfect history, and ve ry poor governments, who are also involved in international terrorism. It is an established fact that many overseas terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda are international in nature, they have members in many countries that are operating under one common banner. Al-Qaeda has used this tactic in Afghanistan, Iraq, and many other countries to achieve what they want. However, terrorists need support in order to carry out their attacks, and this is where international terrorism comes into play. To continue with our example, many governments around the world need international support in order to conduct operations like these and they receive this support from international terrorist groups. Now, let us take a look at American government. There is a big difference between East Timor and the US, but the American government has also suffered the same problems as other countries, in terms of international terrorist groups, and many governments around the world. However, this has not deterred the American government and in fact they have worked with international organizations to combat terrorism. As one nation begins to fight another nation, the question remains; is it worth it, and how many lives have we lost, and how many lives are we destroying by supporting one group of individuals over another? The West has made a lot of noise in Iraq, and it looks like they are losing, so do we want to push the conflict and be that next small village in a large, undefended country, while a terrorism group takes control? I guess the answer is a resounding no, but to be fair, the entire world must stand up and do something before the third world war, which could easily happen.Perhaps the real question is why are the British government and the British people supporting the United States of America in a civil war, and who are the leaders of the organization that they are supporting? Well, the answer is, it's too late, they should just stop supporting the UN, and join the club of nation s, because they are not part of the club. Furthermore, there is no longer any excuse to get involved in a conflict, the terrorist groups have infiltrated every major government, and you should remember, who are they really helping?
